A Glance Inside My Thoughts

The Phoenix

The Phoenix, a mystical bird, is believed to burn itself into flames every 500 years. The bird builds a nest of twigs, settles inside, and then ignites the nest into a blaze. The fire burns away the old – renewed spirit rises up and the Phoenix experiences new birth.

I honor the mystical tale as it is symbolic of human pain, sorrow and growth. Every so often we are thrust into change that is so overwhelming it burns away the very existence of who we had previously believe ourselves to be. Through this journey we evolve into new life, new opportunities, and new awakenings with a soul that is wiser because of where we have been. Pain is often a catalyst for change and growth, and if we keep our hearts open, move tenderly through whatever is going on in life we awaken as gentler, more wise and loving people.

My personal journey taught me – “the worst that ever happened to me created the best that I became”— td

Joseph Campbell said — “You have to give up the life you had planned in order to have the life that is waiting for you “.
